A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men" (Proverbs 18:16).

God endowed everyone with unique skills and talents. Therefore, you do not have to act desperate. "Desperation is a dangerous perfume to wear", and consequently, the distress will drive you to chase money. Keep reading to learn why it is unnecessary and what you can do to live in plenty.

Why You Do Not Have To

  • You have a covenant with God.

But Remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today (Deuteronomy 8:18, New International Version). God is the source of financial prosperity - it is part of the covenant. You serve a covenant making and a covenant keeping God. Meditate on Deuteronomy 8:18 until you get a revelation.

  • You are anointed to prosper.

Isaiah 45:2-3 expounds on the financial blessing that is bestowed upon you. "I will go before you and level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places", (New International Version).

Simply put, the anointing is enough. Receive it - walk in it. Read aloud verses 1-3; nevertheless, replace your name where you see Cyrus.

  • The supply has been released.

Proverbs 13:22 says, "But the wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous" (New King James Version). Gaining access to the reserve is difficult because many Christians believe it is still laid up.

When Jesus went to the cross, he redeemed us from sin, sickness, and poverty. He got up. The money was resurrected also. Tell your finances to get up!

How to Live in Plenty

  • Tithe.

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord Almighty, "and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it (Malachi 3:10, New International Version).

Tithing breaks the back of poverty. If you are not paying your tithe (10%), how can you expect increase? Start tithing today! Watch what happens in your career or business.

Some, however, argue that tithing is not a requirement. My response it simple, "Stay broke, busted, and disgusted."

  • Support the gospel.

In addition, you determine the amount of your harvest. But these are the ones sown on good ground, those who hear the word, accept it, and bear fruit: some thirty fold, some sixty, and some a hundred (Mark 4:20, New King James Version). Make sure the soil is good, increase your hearing, and let nothing shake your faith.

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 9:6-7, New International Version). A tight fist will strangle your finances. Open your hand, and let go!

The money has to multiply. According to Genesis 1:11, A seed multiplies after its kind. If you sow money, you will reap money.

  • Give.

Give and it shall be given unto you: good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the measure that you use, it will be measured back to you (Luke 6:38, New King James Version).

The command contains one word - give. Yet, thirty five words are used to explain the result. Giving is the key to increase in the Kingdom.

Elijah asked the widow to make him some bread. "She went away and did as Elijah had told her". For that reason, the woman received a good measure pressed down, shaken together and running over jug of flour and oil (1 Kings 15-16). She survived the famine.

Shift your thinking. You do not work for a living - you work for a giving.
